about
this is the first song I ever produced and I am super proud of it. I made it when the coronavirus pandemic began and people really didn't seem to understand viruses. this song is from the perspective of a virus. the narrative structure mimics the three stages of a virus as it takes over cells: endocytosis (infection), exocytosis (reproduction), and apoptosis (cell death). like humans, viruses adapt to survive. They do die when exposed to UV radiation, making the winter and the dark ideal places to infect host organisms.
lyrics
I come in the winter when dark never ends
I come in the summer when the kids play pretend
I come in the summer and I take what I can
I come in the winter and I get my revenge
every human life
I need it to survive
every human life
I need it to survive
I hope that you drink all day and stay up till dawn
I won't kill you baby I'll just make you my home
I know that you're frightened you don't know what to do
I won't ever give up because I'm just like you
